Glacade® (Suspended Glazing System) is a generic term for structures that use glass to enclose large openings. Advanced glass-support methods and developments in construction techniques that use reinforcing materials have made it possible to construct large, open areas in buildings that give real feelings of openness. The independent development of the intermediate gasket insulation method, which provide excellent absorption of vertical movement, and the earthquake proof installation method, which absorbs shifts between the rib glass and face plates during an earthquake have, together with existing techniques, considerably expanded the possible application of Glacade®. Glacade's® reliability is proven through rigorous testing and in many Asahi Glass installations over the last two decades.
